Quebec Writers' Federation Gala Vikki Stark on left The Quebec Writers' Federation Judges' Reaction to the Book Stark’s thoroughly researched, enlightened take on the sister dynamic is fascinating. Her research was extensive and she used many clever anecdotes to back up her findings and sum up points-of-view. Stark’s book brings new meaning to the phrase “the personal is the political,” in that she gives issues between women a new weight and applies to them the kind of in-depth study normally reserved for the political area or power dynamics. It’s very clear she’s personally invested in the book… there’s a warmth and energy embedded in the narrative.
